No particular reason regarding the cuelist over the chase, for me to adjust the fade time is just easier in a cuelist.
Regarding waves or steps, unfortunately you will need to manually do this with delay times etc, Unless you use the FX engine for Int, color etc, and record that into the two cue’s in the cuelist, then just add the manual PT…[Read more]
From me, the only tips I have for syncing your lights with music is too not over complicate it at first, for a 3min video you can take up to 10hours to program if you want your lights to change or advance every hit, build etc.

Unfortunately directly with the FX, no. However I do cheat a little and adjust the tilt setting more upwards to make sure it does not go to the wall.
The only solution that I have found very effective which is a longer route is to use a Cuelist and create 2 cue’s one with the lower value and one with the upper value and adjust the…[Read more]
For me, this comes with programming skill,
You should program it to run the shortest route, for instance, in this video, the centre light takes a full 360 degree turn to stand on the same spot, that doesn’t really make sense to me to do it this way.
My method is to use presets and between presets make sure that you take the…[Read more]

Have you taken a look at the video I created on YouTube for LearnStageLigting on how to program band lighting? This will give you great insight on how I program my shows.

It really depend on what market you want to go in?
If you are offering technical services yourself and never really have national acts coming with a LD, I think you’ll be fine without branded lights.
Where it really matters is in the rental market etc.
Great question, below I’m attaching the explanation.
Preset – Presets (also known as palettes or focus groups in other consoles) are the essential building block for fast programming as well as efficient editing of cues. Presets are divided into functional parameter groups like “Color” or “Gobo” to break fixtures into their…[Read more]
Seems like you have quite a fair amount of wash fixtures which are static, so complementing that with spots would be my best advise.
